MEROHEM-1GM Injection is used for:

• Treatment of certain serious bacterial infections
• Severe respiratory tract infections
• Intra-abdominal bacterial infections
• Complicated urinary tract infections
• Serious skin and soft-tissue infections
• Other susceptible bacterial infections requiring intravenous antibiotic therapy

How It Works

Meropenem is a carbapenem antibiotic that interferes with bacterial cell-wall formation, helping stop the growth and survival of susceptible bacteria.

Dosage

• Administer only by a qualified healthcare professional.
• The dose and duration depend on the type and severity of infection, patient’s age, weight, and kidney function.
• Usually administered intravenously as prescribed.
• Dose adjustment may be required in patients with impaired kidney function.
• Complete the prescribed course as directed.

• Prescription antibiotic; use only under medical supervision.
• Not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
• Inform the doctor about any history of allergy to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
• Inform the doctor if taking valproic acid or related medicines, as significant interactions can occur.
• Seek medical attention for severe allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, seizures, or other serious symptoms.
