Description

CIPROHEM-500 Tablets are used for:

• Treatment of certain bacterial infections
• Urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Certain gastrointestinal bacterial infections
• Certain respiratory or skin infections when specifically prescribed
• Treatment of other susceptible bacterial infections as directed by a healthcare professional

How It Works

CIPROHEM-500 contains Ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by interfering with bacterial enzymes required for bacterial DNA replication, thereby stopping the growth and multiplication of susceptible bacteria.

Dosage

• Take only as prescribed by your doctor or healthcare professional.
• Take the tablet with water, with or without food as directed.
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew.
• Avoid taking it together with milk or calcium-fortified drinks unless advised otherwise.
• Complete the full course prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel better.
• Do not take antibiotics without medical advice.

Note

• Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic and should be used only for appropriate bacterial infections.
• It does not treat viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
• Avoid strenuous exercise if you develop tendon pain or swelling and contact your doctor promptly, as fluoroquinolones can rarely cause serious tendon problems.
• Inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, allergies, or medicines you are taking.
• Antacids and supplements containing calcium, magnesium, aluminium, iron, or zinc can reduce absorption; follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions regarding timing.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only after consultation with a healthcare professional.
