Description

NITOVOX-OZ Tablets is used for:

• Treatment of susceptible bacterial and protozoal infections
• Certain gastrointestinal infections
• Infectious diarrhea and dysentery
• Mixed bacterial and anaerobic infections
• Other infections caused by susceptible microorganisms

How It Works

Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial enzymes required for DNA replication and repair. Ornidazole acts against susceptible anaerobic bacteria and certain protozoa by interfering with their genetic material.

Dosage

• Take only as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Swallow the tablet with water.
• Follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
• Complete the full course of treatment.

Note

• This medicine is intended for appropriate bacterial or protozoal infections and does not treat viral infections.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment with ornidazole and for at least 3 days after the last dose unless advised otherwise.
• Possible side effects include nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, dizziness, or headache.
• Avoid taking antacids or mineral supplements containing calcium, magnesium, aluminium, iron, or zinc close to the levofloxacin dose unless advised otherwise.
• Seek medical attention for severe allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, unusual nerve symptoms, or tendon pain/swelling.
